Finally.............

We got the internet and phone back yesterday.  Man it was almost a week without a phone and the internet.  I was surprised at how much I missed both and how hard it made our life.  I had to call home one night to speak to the wife and I couldn't reach her on her cell phone.  So, I had to call a neighbor and ask them to go over and tell the wife to call me.  I have a lot of catching up to do with the blog so stay tuned.  I also have a busy weekend planned with family activities but I will do the best I can to catch up.  Alright so off to the fishing report for the first post.  I managed to hit a pond last week in a neighboring county with Greg.  We did really well.  I caught 23 panfish and 4 largemouth.  I used my clousers, the fruit cocktail popper and the white Road Kill Nymph.  All did well.  The first 9 panfish slammed the clouser.  The bass were crushing the fruit cocktail popper and I caught my largest bass ever on the fly rod with the white Road Kill Nymph.

Here are some photos of the pond we were fishing

And the fish porn

I usually dont or at least try not to put a photo of me up on here.  I am camera shy but I couldnt resist with this bass.  It is by far the biggest largemouth I have caught on the fly rod.  I had my wife measure my shoulders this morning and it is 17 inches from shoulder to shoulder.  I am guessing this bass is around 19 or so inches.  Caught it on my 5wt.  Great fish for me.

  1. woohoo!! You got out fishin! I gave the Bass Pro Shop guys your address to your blog and going back tomorrow to see if they checked it out! They said the biggest hurdle is corporate and they need to barcode them. But I talked them up like they were made of gold so we will see. I'm pulling for you!

Congrats on that huge largemouth. Some people can go a lifetime and not land a fish like that especially with the fly rod. You had an exceptional trip. How large was the pond you were fishing? Were all these fish caught from the bank or from a boat, either way it looks like a great trip? Thanks for sharing.
