On Friday 09/14/2012 I spent our last night on the Shenandoah River fishing for smallies. I got out a little earlier than I had been doing and I was happy about that. I got one but just as I was lifting him out of the water, he got off so no photos. I managed to land 2 fall fish and 12 long ears on the Road Kill in olive and black. I stopped before it was even dark out. It was just one of those times when I knew I was done and I was OK with that. It isn't like I won't be back or I didn't have fun. I knew it was time to go and I did. This never was supposed to be a fishing vacation. This was supposed to be time spent with the family and when possible I could fish. Melissa was kind enough to make sure I was able to fish every day. I spent five days on the Shenandoah and one day at Mossy Creek. While the times I was at each weren't the best, at least I got to fish my whole vacation and I was happy about that. Speaking of times, most of my time on the water, I had the whole place to myself. I am guessing it was because of how late in the year it was but whatever the reason, it was awesome. I enjoyed it. So ends our week long stay in the Shenandoah Valley.
Some photos of where I fished, the river and under water shots
Whole parking lot to myself
Got to have coffee before you go
Got to have some Whiskey after you come home!
