Some Items For Review

In the past month, I have been given some items to review.  First up are two factory second fly lines.  One is a weight forward 3wt with the other one a double taper 5wt.  These fly lines are courtesy of Discount Fishing Tackle, Inc.  While my review of the fly lines is going to have to wait due to my injury (see here), I would highly recommend them right now solely based on their customer service.  I called them a few weeks back and they were very friendly and pleasant to deal with.  The reason for the review is a while back we had a discussion both here and on Facebook regarding these fly lines.  I had been speaking with a friend of mine regarding these lines because I had been searching for a new 4wt line.  He suggested that I give these a try.  I am really looking forward to trying these out, unfortunately it will have to wait a while until my hand heals.

The second review will be two UPG fly boxes from Umpqua.  These boxes are from their Umpqua Professional Guide series.  I have a few of these already.  Most of mine are for trout flies. Umpqua sent me a few to try for poppers.  As most of us warm water people know, it can be hard to find a decent waterproof fly box that holds larger sized poppers.  I am excited to have gotten these to review.  I believe there may even be a giveaway in the future for one or both of them.  For those that are interested or haven't heard of these boxes before, you can check them out here.

  1. I was looking at those today at Cabela's. Not sure whether to buy more streamer boxes - still wanting that sling pack and trying to keep gear minimal - but I want streamer boxes!! Like a really big MTC box that holds everything.
