Tying Area Redone

I told you all that we reorganized and revamped the tying area.  It had really gotten out of control.  It is amazing to me just how much shit I have and how little I seem to put stuff away.  I will also state that I found some stuff that I forgot I had which was great.  So they say a picture is worth a thousand words well here is a bunch of photos:

  1. dang dude. nice setup. you can NEVER have enough materials. I really like your drying area for popper bodies, that must really help streamline banging those out! Cool
PS .. I hope you asked Santa for a vise, I didn't see one in the pictures. haha

    1. Thank you sir. Actually I do have a vise. I tie on a Regal. It may not be in the photos. I am on my second one thanks to the kids. O I'm sorry they didn't break it and can't imagine how it got broken.

  3. I'm more impressed by your library than your tying materials... although both are equally impressive.
I'm just more of a bibliophile than fly tying materials junkie. You've got a good assortment of classic and recent titles. We have a lot of the same books.
I think I noticed at least on Joe Brooks title. I'm a huge fan of Joe Brooks, are you?
And what did you think of Holschlag's Smallmouth book?

    1. Jay,

My family and I are big readers in general. We have books everywhere in the house. You did notice a Joe Brooks title. My Dad got it for me in a used book store. An oldie but a goodie. I have two of Tim's books. I have the fly fishing book as well as the small stream fishing one. I like them but think they could have been better. I was a little disappointed in the fly fishing book. Maybe that's just me but I was. I had high hopes for it.

  4. Whoa dude, really liking the setup, especially the deer hair drawer. You mentioned you wanted to get into deer hair stuff earlier, Hairline's belly hair is great, but I have also tanned my own hides which works a lot better if you have a hunter in the fam.

    1. Thanks Devin. I haven't hunted in years. I mean like 20 or so years. I do want to start doing some deer hair bugs but right now I am working on the inventory. No tying for me!

  5. My tying desk looked like that once. Frame that first photo so you can remember next time you reorganize.
