Steroid Ant

This is a pattern I found last year on Hatches Magazine.  It is very simple to tie.  I choose to tie mine in green as well as in black.  When I fished them last year, they were a killer.  The wife even tied a few up for me to fish with.

  2. Some fisherman have it made when they can get their wife to tie some of their flies--nice looking pattern, and it looks like a killer.

  3. Yeah Bill it worked real well last year. Somewhere I have a video my wife took of me using my verison and then using hers to see which one does better. Oh and dont egt all excited, having her tie isnt all that it is cracked up to be. Now she looks at my work and points out what is wrong with it.

  4. Very nice foam fly.

The fly images here and the ones on either side of this post, WOW!. I don't know if it is just the Blue background, the light, or you bought a new camera. But whatever you are doing, keep it up. Was good before but IMHO great now.

  5. Granted I am jealous you have a wife that will tie flies but on the other hand I don't think a wife would stick around for my shananagans or how ever you spell it :) Great pattern buddy

  6. Ronald thanks. I actually forgot I had a small photo studio given to me as a gift. It is a pain to get out and set up so I never use it. This time I decided to. The photos do look a lot better. I just need to find some place to set it up and not take it down.

Dustin thanks. She does put up with a lot. I will also say she ties a mean fly and wanted to enter the FTOTY contest but forgot. Now she wants to tie some of these guys up.

  8. Thanks Wes917. I also slayed them last year using this guy. The wife tied up one in Black which also killed them.
