I have been tying up some more buggers lately. I am sticking with the orange and brown one for a fly swap I am in. I did tie up some purple buggers. Here is one of them. I want to get crackin' on some poppers here soon.
I've noticed that buggers and variations are only sold commercially down to about a size 8. However, in my experience the fly has been good for trout and panfish down to at least size 14.
Roanld thanks for the comment. Yeah I have noticed that as well. I tie my down to a size 12. I have a friend who swears by a size 14 for brookies in the mountains.
